Merit Answers: Do you know of a Reading Intervention program?
Question
Area of Concern: Reading Comprehension
Submitted by: Teacher
Grade Level: High School
Competency: Below Level
I am looking for some advice on a reading intervention
program that you would recommend for 9th graders other than
Voyager or Read180. The program would be used with struggling readers in the school.
Answer
We've helped many struggling 9th graders improve their reading skills. Best of all Merit is intuitive and easy to use.
Our most popular programs for this purpose are Developing Critical Thinking Skills for Effective Reading and Vocabulary Stretch.
Developing Critical Thinking Skills for Effective Reading helps students improve their reading comprehension and develops their ability to make inferences. It is designed for students who read at a 5th to 8th grade level.
Vocabulary Stretch is vocabulary-building software that helps students recognize words in different contexts and understand where many English words come from. It is designed for students in grades 4 through 10.
