Merit Audio Visual Announces Change Of Company Name To Merit Software

New York, NY -- Merit Audio Visual has filed with the New York State Department of Corporations to change its company name to Merit Software.

The new name reflects the company's transition from a publisher of supplemental educational videos to a developer of desktop, client/server, and Internet applications, which are effective in improving students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and mathematics skills.

Merit has begun a 12- to 18-month effort to tell the educational and IT marketplace of the name change.

Concurrently, a new web site and print catalog will help describe the benefits of using Merit's software and offer technology-based solutions to common problems educators face when trying to boost their student's skills.

Since 1985, Merit has been publishing electronic media products that are effective in improving users' basic skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, grammar, and mathematics.
