What's New – Early
Reading Booster |
 |
 |
Early Reading Booster, a new program from Merit Software, is designed to
help beginning readers build life-long reading skills. Interactive
exercises teach the key concepts of vocabulary-in-context, main idea,
detail, sequence, and inference. Texts are illustrated throughout.
The software, geared to skill levels 2-3, will also benefit remedial
students.

Customer Feedback – Basic
Skills Pack |

“The software not only teaches key concepts, but accurately predicts
students’ future scores on our state tests,” remarks an educator

This software bundle consists of a select group of programs, targeting

Shredder Classic is a downloadable chess program useful for teaching
students chess. Playing levels can be adjusted from beginner to advanced.
Features include a choice of chessmen and board styles, as well as
a built-in-chess coach.

The Westinghouse Charitable Giving Foundation contributes to non-profit
organizations benefiting students in grades K-12. Applications are
considered on a quarterly basis, and funding may be used for the purchase
of educational technology. Applications from programs serving the disadvantaged,
minorities, and populations with disabilities are especially encouraged.
