With this course, middle school and high school teachers will learn how to use Merit Software's tools to teach the writing process within a realistic classroom environment. In addition, participants will learn implications for preparing students and for state writing assessments
The course is lead by an instructor who moderates a bulletin-board style online discussion. Each course lasts twelve to fourteen weeks, depending on which section you are enrolled in. Participants have flexibility but are expected to participate in the online discussions, oversee their students use of Merit as a supplement to their in-class instruction, and write a paper summarizing their observations.
Continuing education units (CEUs) are available for this course from the Marshall University Graduate College.
Using Paragraph Punch or Essay Punch with your students is required for this course. You may use the online or desktop edition of either program. If you have not purchased access to Paragraph Punch or Essay Punch, contact us for pricing and purchasing information.
