ESL Beginning Skills Pack - English language learning software that works!

Consists of a group of Merit Software programs bundled together, selected to cover high beginning skills for English language learners.

The software is self-paced and self-monitored. Students advance as they demonstrate readiness.

Scores are tracked in a record management system that allows teachers to view and print detailed reports.

The questions, answers and explanations of the program can be spoken aloud by using the Merit Text Talker.

Designed for English language students, the software is appropriate for school age students as well as older students.

ESL Beginning Skills Pack Curriculum

Contextual help and feedback engage students of all ages.
Pupils choose from a menu of reward animations and sounds.
All student work is stored in the Teacher Program Manager.

Concepts Covered:

Subject-verb agreement
Simple past tense of irregular verbs
Double negatives
Noun plurals
Reading and responding to complete sentences
Learning the meaning of unfamiliar words
Using illustrations and words in the text as clues

Each of the Merit Software Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/2003/XP programs in this package requires 5 to 8 MB RAM. About 150 MB hard disk space is required if all of the programs are installed. All programs also require a minimum screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels.
