Consists of Merit Software programs that target intermediate ESOL reading, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as listening and speaking skills. Contains a wide variety of teaching activities proven effective in increasing English language proficiency.
Content is relevant to real-life situations. Topics include family literacy, work, civics, health, consumer economics, social skills, and technology.
The software is self-paced and self-correcting. Students advance as they demonstrate readiness.
Scores are tracked in a record management system that allows teachers to view and print detailed reports.
The questions, answers and explanations of the programs can be spoken aloud by using the Merit Text Talker.

The ESL Midlevel Skills Pack is comprised of the following three curriculum components: Reading, Vocabulary and Grammar
Personalized help and feedback engage students of all ages.
Students choose from a menu of reward animations and sounds.
All student work is stored in the Teacher Program Manager.
Content can be spoken aloud by using the Merit Text Talker.
Each of the Merit Software Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/2003/XP programs in this package requires 5 to 8 MB RAM. About 150 MB hard disk space is required if all of the programs are installed. All programs also require a minimum screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels.

The 2008 ESL Midlevel Skills Pack consists of three curriculum
components. Among the three components are 6 separate software programs
that have been effective in improving students' basic reading, writing,
and math skills.
