Merit Question and Answer
auditory processing disorder

Area of Concern: Reading Comprehension

Submitted by: Parent

Grade Level: Special Education

Competency: Below Level

I home school my fourth grade son who has an auditory processing disorder. He is a strong phoenetic reader but struggles with comprehension. Because of this, we have him reading approximately 1 grade level behind. Would this program help him?

Absolutely. Our best program to build fourth grade reading comprehension is Reading Comprehension Booster. By using it, students work with exercises to determine main idea, make inferences and draw conclusions.

Additionally, the Merit Text Talker (which is included with Reading Comprehension Booster) vocalizes all parts of the exercises. The Merit Text Talker removes decoding words from the reading process and allows practice in comprehension. Students gain confidence in their ability to comprehend texts and become independent learners.
