My students are not motivated and find reading boring. They have difficulty comprehending themes within the story and often miss the underlying messages. What can I do to help them?

ANSWER:

Merit programs give students the opportunity to take charge of their own learning and stay engaged with reading assignments. The software provides contextual feedback and continuously reinforces knowledge as students work through lessons at their own pace.

We have helped many students improve their reading comprehension skills. Our most popular programs for these purposes are Reading Comprehension Booster and Developing Critical Thinking Skills For Effective Reading.

Reading Comprehension Booster is designed for students in U.S. grades 3 through 5 (ages 8 and up). The software helps students improve reading comprehension.

Developing Critical Thinking Skills For Effective Reading is designed for students in grades 5 through 8 (age 10 and up). The software helps students master specific reading skills: main idea, vocabulary, sequence, fact-opinion, factual recall, and inference.
