Native American Students at a Tribal school on an Indian reservation. Low motivation to read. Many students have never read a book.

ANSWER:

Thanks for your inquiry. Merit Software has helped many students with low motivation such as yours.

Our programs are based on the premise that students should encounter constant feedback, interactivity and positive reinforcement. This method has been proved to boost students motivation and academic achievement.

I suggest that you start with Developing Critical Thinking Skills for Effective Reading. The program helps students improve their reading comprehension and develops their ability to make inferences. It is designed for students who read at a 5th to 8th grade level.

If Developing Critical Thinking Skills is too difficult, try Reading Shape-Up. It provides helpful tutorials in specific areas of reading, such as main idea, vocabulary, fact-opinion.

Best of luck.
