Merit Question and Answer
English curriculum help for high school homeschooling

Area of Concern: Help with all Subjects
Submitted by: Parent
Grade Level: High School
Competency: At Level
I have everything decided for 9th grade EXCEPT for English and it's driving me crazy. All of my homeschool friends use Christian publishers, so I can't ask them without getting "the look". I need something that covers General English (even 8th grade level is fine). We are doing Wordly Wise already, so we don't really need vocab to be covered. Just grammar, reading, and writing. What do you have that can help me?

We have helped many homschool parents with their English curriculum needs. I recommend you consider Grammar Fitness Advanced and Essay Punch.

Grammar Fitness helps students master troublesome points of English grammar, including subject verb agreement, dangling modifiers, and shifts in voice. Users learn by finding errors in sentences. The may track their progress with an easy-to-use scoring system.

Essay Punch guides students step-by-step through the writing process. Prompts help learners develop an idea, and create their own original work. Built-in tips and hints are available at every step of the way.

Plus, all writing is automatically stored in an online portfolio. Students and parents are easily able to monitor, view, and comment on written work.
