Many of my ESL students read below grade level. Although it is an issue of vocabulary, they still need work with basic word attack skills and comprehension skills.What can you recommend?

Reading Shape-Up will probably be very helpful. It helps students master specific reading skills: main idea, vocabulary, sequence, fact-opinion, factual recall, and inference. Students receive help and contextual feedback while they work through the program. It is written for students reading at a 3rd through 8th grade reading level.
You might also let your students work on Developing Critical Thinking Skills. It helps students improve their reading comprehension and develops their ability to make inferences. It is designed for students who read at a 5th to 8th grade level.
