Jake is a a very bright fourth grader who had trouble learning to decode and write. He has mastered the decoding problem. He does not have compression problems; however, he has a very hard time writing complete sentences. His spelling is also terrible. His main problem appears to be transmitting his thoughts, knowledge in writing.

I suggest that he starts with Starter Paragraph Punch. The program helps students develop their paragraph writing skills through reason, detail, sequence, example, and cause and effects. Choosing from a menu of topics, students are guided to develop an idea, and to write their own topic sentence, body, and conclusion. Steps include pre-writing, writing, organizing, revising, rewriting, and publishing.
Once Jack has mastered Starter Paragraph Punch he may move on to Paragraph Punch which is a move advanced version.
