Frequently Asked Questions: Program Versions

  1. What is the difference between the Home and 1 Station versions?
  2. What is the difference between a 5 Pack: 1 Station version and a 5: Station networkable version?
  3. How many "stations" do I need to buy for use on a network?
  4. Can I add more concurrent users after my initial purchase?
  5. Do I need to purchase a site license?

1. What is the difference between the Home and 1 Station versions?

All versions of our software have the same content. Only the management system is different.

  • The Home version is for use on one computer and contains record keeping for two students.
  • The 1 Station version is also for use on one computer, but it holds records for 42 students.

2. What is the difference between a 5 Pack: 1 Station version and a 5: Station networkable version?

A 5 Pack: 1 Station version allows you to install a 1 Station stand-alone version on up to 5 individual computers. Not networkable.

A 5 Station: networkable version can be installed on one server and may be accessible to every computer on the network. However, only five students may use the lessons at the same time.

3. How many "stations" do I need to buy for use on a network?

To use our programs successfully, it is sufficient to have a license to cover the greatest number of students who might use a program at any one point in time.

For example, a 5 Station: networkable version can be installed on one server and may be accessible to every computer on the network. However, only five students may log on to it at the same time.

All networkable versions keep records for 1,000 students.

4. Can I add more concurrent users after my initial purchase?

Yes. At a later date, you may purchase a program version to cover a greater number of simultaneous users. Expanded networkable versions can be installed on top of existing networked programs.

5. Do I need to purchase a site license?

No. For flexibility we offer a choice of licenses. You need to purchase only the license that will cover the maximum number of students who might be concurrently logged on to a program.

For example, if a group of 10 students at one time will be working on a program in a lab that consists of 35 computers and one server, then only a 10 Station license is needed.

If you expect more than 10 students to logging on to, and use, a lesson at one moment in time, please call us for additional pricing options.
